The basic plot line begins with main character, Rick Grimes, a small town sheriff’s deputy, and Shane Walsh, – Rick’s work partner and best friend. #Telltale the walking dead season two last choice seriesTo begin, The Walking Dead, television show and comic series start out in roughly the same way. Key differences include character relationships, character outcomes, scenes that may or may not exist in other forms of The Walking Dead, and so on. As mentioned previously, the television show adaptation both follows and does not follow the graphic novel. To begin, I would like to compare the original text of the comics to the television show, arguably the most popular form of the franchise and a large contributor to the popularity of The Walking Dead. Later, I will discuss the Telltale Games’ version of The Walking Dead, which although it includes similar themes and occasional drop-ins from characters recognizable from the comic series, does not follow the comic series or television show and instead has a creative, immersive experience all its own. Although the show is based off of the comic series and shares many similarities, it also differs in some important and thought provoking ways. To start off, the comic series is the original version of The Walking Dead. Let me begin by pointing out some similarities and differences between comic series and television show. The game is both immersive and interactive because of the decisions the player can make based off of multiple choices the writers have created for them to choose from. Although the game also has characters making decisions, those characters also double as the players. In both the novel and show, both characters and writers make decisions that affect outcomes that we the viewers take seriously on a deep, immersive level. I believe that choice takes a large part in the popularity of the show, comics, and game. I will be comparing the comic series, show, and video game in order to discuss differences and focus on the importance of choice, which is a central theme in The Walking Dead. By doing so, I will show that the theme of choice in The Walking Dead franchise is what sets it apart from other comic, television, and game franchises.Ĭhoice is a theme that you can find in all forms of The Walking Dead franchise. Choice is arguably most important themes used throughout The Walking Dead series. Some of the most important aspects of each form in the series include a theme of choice which is heavily woven throughout the novel, television show, and Telltale game. Extremely popular, each form of the series allows the audience to immerse themselves into a fictional world where characters of various ages, races, and genders attempt to survive in a ruthless environment. Originally a comic series, it has been adapted into various forms including an AMC television show, and video games for various consoles by Telltale Games. Over the course of the past couple of years The Walking Dead, has taken over popular culture. The Walking Dead Franchise’s Usage of Choice Anyway, here is the first section I chose to post of my Walking Dead paper for this week, enjoy! Unlike my Mass Effect paper, this one will be more difficult to clearly section, but I’ll be sure to add information at the top and bottom as always. As I mentioned before, I am using this blog to post sections of two of my paper for my senior project. Hello, Everyone!
